Claude Prompt Generator

Most Claude work involves material: a contract, a transcript, a folder of notes you have not pasted yet. The generator writes the surrounding prompt first, leaving a clearly marked place for that material to go — so the instructions stay instructions and never get read as part of the thing being analysed.

How it works

  • 1

    A slot for your material

The brief is written around content that has not arrived yet, with a labelled section to drop it into when it does.

  • 2

    Boundaries Claude respects

Tagged sections keep the request separate from the source. On long inputs that separation is what stops an instruction from getting lost in the middle.

  • 3

Told what to do when it does not know

The brief asks for "not stated in the document" rather than a plausible-sounding guess, which is the failure that matters when you are working from evidence.

When to use it

  • A review you will run many times

Same prompt, different contract each month. Writing the brief properly once pays for itself by the third run.

  • Analysis someone else will check

Explicit rules about citing and hedging make the output auditable rather than merely fluent.

  • Long inputs

The more you paste, the more the structure matters, and the less you want to have improvised it.

Frequently asked questions

  • Where do I put my document?

Into the labelled section the generated prompt leaves for it, before you paste the whole thing into Claude. That placement is the point of the structure.

  • What if I want Claude Code instead?

Pick Claude Code as the target. You get a build-oriented brief — goal, requirements, approach, verification — rather than one aimed at reading and writing.

  • Is this the same as the Claude optimizer?

No. The optimizer restructures a prompt you already wrote. This writes one from a description, which means it also decides what to ask for, not only how to phrase it.

  • Does it work on Claude's free plan?

Yes. You are copying text into a chat box; the plan does not change that.
