Prompt Checker: catch the gaps before you hit send

A prompt checker is a pre-flight list. Paste the prompt, see which of the seven checks pass and which fail, and fix the failures before you spend a message — or a hundred of them across a team.

How it works

  • 1

    Each dimension is a check

Clarity, context, specificity, constraints, output format, examples, model fit. A low bar on any of them is a check that failed.

  • 2

    Failures come with a fix

Each recommendation names what to add — an audience, a length, a tone, a schema — rather than telling you to "be more specific".

  • 3

    Re-check as you edit

Scoring is instant, so you can watch a check pass as you type the missing sentence.

When to use it

  • Prompts that go into automation

A prompt running on a schedule or inside a workflow is worth checking properly: nobody is watching the output every time.

  • Shared team prompts

Before a prompt goes in a shared doc, check that it carries its own context instead of relying on what you happened to say in chat.

  • Long prompts you inherited

Inherited prompts accumulate contradictions. The check shows which parts are pulling their weight.

Frequently asked questions

  • What does the prompt checker actually check?

Whether the prompt states a role or perspective, who the output is for, concrete details and numbers, constraints like tone and length, an explicit output format, any examples, and whether its structure suits the model you target.

  • Is it the same as the analyzer?

Same engine, different framing. The analyzer shows the score breakdown; the checker is for a quick pass/fail read before sending.

  • Does it check for prompt injection or unsafe content?

No. It checks prompt quality, not safety. Your prompt is also never treated as instructions by our own optimizer — it is wrapped and clearly marked as user content.

  • How long should a prompt be?

As long as it takes to state the job, the context and the format — and no longer. Padding does not raise the score, and Quick mode exists to keep good prompts short.
