Privacy Policy

This policy describes what happens to your data when you use Better AI Prompts. It is written to match what the product actually does; if the product changes, this page changes with it.

What we collect

  • Account details, if you create one: your email address, and the name and avatar your sign-in provider gives us.
  • Prompts you save: the original and optimized text, plus the folder, tags and versions you create.
  • Your activity history while signed in: the prompts you optimize, analyze, save or reuse, so you can find them again. You can clear this at any time.
  • Usage counts: how many optimizations you have run, so plan limits can be enforced.
  • Technical data: standard server logs. AI features need an account, so signed-out browsing is not counted against any stored identifier.

What we do not collect

  • Raw IP addresses. A salted, one-way hash is derived while a request is handled, is never written to the database, and cannot be reversed into an address.
  • Prompt text in analytics. Event properties are stripped of anything that looks like content before they are sent.
  • Prompt text in URLs. Prompts are passed between screens in your browser's session storage, and “Try in ChatGPT” copies to your clipboard instead of building a link.
  • Payment details. There is no checkout yet, so no card data reaches us at all.

How your prompts are processed

When you ask for an optimization, your prompt and any context or answers you provide are sent to our AI provider, which routes them to the model that performs the rewrite. Scoring does not leave your browser.

We do not train models on your prompts. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.

Who processes data for us

  • Supabase — database and authentication.
  • OpenRouter — routes prompts to the AI model that performs optimization.
  • Vercel — hosting and delivery.
  • Upstash — rate limiting, when configured.
  • PostHog and Google Analytics — product analytics, only when keys are configured, and never with prompt text.

Cookies

Signing in sets a session cookie so you stay signed in. It is required for the app to work, and it is set whatever you decide about analytics.

Analytics cookies are different. In the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask before setting any, and nothing is loaded until you accept — declining means no analytics cookies at all, and the product works the same either way. Elsewhere analytics loads without asking. Your answer is remembered in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, so clearing this site's data in your browser clears it and you will be asked again.

How long we keep things

  • Saved prompts stay until you delete them. Deleting moves a prompt to Trash; deleting it from Trash removes it and its versions permanently.
  • History stays until you clear it or delete your account.
  • Usage counts are kept for the period they apply to, plus a short window for troubleshooting.
  • Deleting your account removes your profile, prompts, folders, tags, versions and history.

Your rights

You can access, export or delete your data. Most of it is available directly in the app; for anything else, write to ankitagarwalshopify@gmail.com and we will action it.

Children

Better AI Prompts is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too, and material changes will be announced in the product. Questions go to ankitagarwalshopify@gmail.com.
